From Whitewisp Hill, follow the path generally north east towards the Bentie Knowe bump. Beyond, you can see the Innerdownie peak with cairn [ ///irrigated.weds.incursion ]. The walk from here is not taxing and offers lovely views in all directions, especially towards Fife and north towards Crieff, through the distinctive shape of Gleneagles.

The path onwards from Innerdownie keeps close to the forest fence on the left and, as you descend towards Glenquey Hill you start to see glimpses of Glendevon. You will be walking into shadow and there will be a temptation, with the goal in sight, to hurry this stage. It is quite a steep descent generally and it is wise to take your time on the last part from the top of Glenquey Hill to Burnfoot; it can be very slippery.

Keep following the path, which eventually comes to a crossing of paths where you go straight on [ ///decent.vest.artichoke ]. This then takes you to a gate, through a small meadow, past a cottage and on to the tarmac of the Burnfoot road. Follow this road east, over the bridge which spans the Glenquey Burn, adjacent to the falls. Shortly after the bridge there is a gate on the left into a meadow [ ///crew.firms.blink ]. Follow the path through the meadow to the gate on the end of the metal bridge over the River Devon. Cross the river here and climb the path on the other side to join the Gleneagles to Yetts o' Muckhart road.

Take care as you emerge onto the A823 as the road can be busy. Cross the road to the pavement on the other side and follow the road east for a short distance and you will see your destination on the left.

With luck it should be warm enough to sit outside but you may end up feeding the midges. Still, a seat is a seat and a pint of Schiehallion is a great reward for a thirsty traveller…
